Sneak preview: Paris. An American collapse in the 60s, Mathias Gold (Kevin Kline), arrives from New York. He has no money and speak virtually no French. But have inherited a huge apartment at the beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg. His plan is to sell the apartment as soon as possible and return home to the United States with enough money to pay too old debts.
While the feud is at its peak, threatened with both lawyers and real estate agents as Mathias 20 x 8 discover secret rooms in the apartment. Not only are the rooms filled with valuable antiques, 20 x 8 they are also filled with old photographs. It turns out that the apartment and Mathilde reveal some secrets that are intimately linked to Mathias.
